I have been working for Blue Couch since October 2009 working with young people and their families. Before that, I worked in mental health services at the hospital and have worked for youth organisations in the community. My profession is Social Work and I specialise in working with children’s’, adolescents’ and parents’ emotional health through Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I am passionate about the link between our emotional wellbeing and physical wellbeing so I love the work Blue Couch does in promoting active wellness. I love spending time with my husband, family and friends and enjoy netball, sports events like runs and triathlons so I like to work on my fitness for these activities.
I have a strong belief that people should have access to research-based and supportive treatments. Thus, I also engage in the supervision and training of other professionals in areas such as managing work fatigue, working with trauma, team functioning, and project development.
Jane has completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Service Supervision (Hons), a Bachelor of Social Work (HOns, Massey Scholar) and Masters of Philosophy (Social Policy) as well as additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy from Behavioral Tech, U.S.A. Her primary interest is the treatment and promotion of women and children’s mental health and the professional development of social and health service professionals.
